History and Purpose

The 91传媒 Thorobreds Foundation, Inc. was established in 2024 and is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to supporting Kentucky State University, its students, and its programs.

The 91传媒 Thorobreds Foundation, Inc. was established based on three guiding principles: service, stewardship, and transparency. These values drive our commitment to responsible and ethical philanthropy, ensuring every contribution directly supports the University's mission, students, and strategic goals.

In alignment with these principles, the Founding Board of Trustees of the Kentucky State University Thorobreds Foundation, Inc. has adopted the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethics and Donor Bill of Rights. With the AFP鈥檚 written permission, these principles are embedded in the Kentucky State University Thorobreds Foundation Inc.'s daily activities, reflecting its dedication to ethical standards and accountability.

Please use the links below to grow the restricted and endowed scholarships that annually support 91传媒 Students. 

Students may apply in the scholarship portal that is available in April and August of each year. Donor scholarship committees may select recipients directly following IRS regulations. If your scholarship does not appear and you wish it to do so, please contact us and it will be live online within 2 business days.

PRESIDENT's Challenge

Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo, President of 91传媒, has issued a special challenge to all alumni: to make a gift of $1,000 to support the students and programs that define our beloved University. This investment not only strengthens scholarships and academic opportunities but also fuels the growth of innovative programs that prepare our students to lead for impact. By answering this call, alumni join together in ensuring that the next generation of Thorobreds have the resources, support, and inspiration they need to succeed. Every gift is a statement of pride in our history and a commitment to our future.
