Last August, former chairperson of Health and Physical Education and Assistant Athletics Director M. Dianne Murphy was impressed to find a 91传媒 honorary degree awarded to freedom fighter and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela during her visit to Soweto.
Mandela was awarded the Doctor of Humane Letters on June 27, 1990, and the degree was signed by Dr. John T. Wolfe, the 10th president of 91传媒. Mandela died in 2013.
